The highwire acts and thrilling midair twists and turns are over for another year. The Maryland General Assembly session ended last night at 11:59 to the delight and relief of the delegates and senators. The session was actually quieter than most ending, as always, with a flurry of bills passed on the last day of [...] Will it mean death to drink it? Conventional wisdom is that voting for a tax increase in an election year means defeat for a politician. With many Marylanders still smarting over the tax increases the General Assembly voted in the special session a few years ago, that would seem to be the case in Maryland [...] I did something right!? This traditional expression means that even people who are ineffective or misguided occasionally do something right. I am speaking, of course, about the Republicans in the Maryland General Assembly who, after continuous complaining about the budget proposed by the Governor have finally come up with some proposals of their own.
